It will introduce some major theories of learning as they developed in their historical and cultural contexts, including Behaviourism; information processing models, the theories of Piaget, Bruner and Vygosky, self regulated learning; theories about individual differences, including intelligence theory, especially as all these apply to classroom teaching. At the end of the unit students will be able to apply the major principals studied to the design of classroom instruction.
