SLS224: Topics in Slavonic Literature |
This first half-year unit will discuss a selection of representative works from Slavonic literature in English translation. It will provide an introduction to their literary and historical background. An analysis of the stylistic features will shed light on little-known aspects of a great literary tradition. No knowledge of a Slavonic language is required. All lectures and readings are in English. Assessment is based on two essays of about 2000 words each.
