This unit is aimed at the student achieving a level of expert in the field of surgery for thoracic and lumbar spine disease. It requires an understanding of the pathology and mechanism of thoracic and lumbar spine disease and its clinical presentation, diagnosis and management. It also requires a thorough understanding and knowledge of the instrumentation.
