ECH113: Curriculum Play in Early Childhood: Theory and Practice |
This unit is an introduction to the nature of play and its role in children's learning and development. Early childhood professionals have long considered play as being central in the lives of young children and students will examine a range of historical and contemporary theories of play and apply these to children's play in a socially and culturally diverse society. Practical tutorials will give students opportunities to experience the complexity of play and the importance of their own role as an adult in the play context.
