FRN122: Introductory French I |
An introductory unit designed to develop skills in reading, writing, comprehension and speaking. The work is of an intensive nature and, in addition to the compulsory class hours, a cassette program and a workbook/laboratory manual provide students with extra material for written, oral and aural practice. Whenever possible, on-campus day students are divided into streams according to their previous study of French (if any); in this way, FRN122 caters for a range of abilities, from the total beginner through to the student who has completed School Certificate or equivalent. Whilst FRN122 may be taken as a unit in its own right, students intending to enter FRN226 Intermediate French I will be required to complete FRN123 Introductory French II and FRN125 Introductory French III.
