GSE829: Pollution Control and Waste Management |
Scientific and engineering concepts in pollution control serve as an introduction to the consideration of topics in air quality management: particulates, vapour and gas, odour, combustion principles and stack design. Physical, chemical and biological treatment of waste water leads to the study of their confinement and treatment of surface waters. The unit concludes with a survey of noise control, industrial solid waste and hazardous waste management.
