LAW880: History of Law in Australia |
This unit examines the development of statute and case law in Australia. The period covered runs from 1788 to the present. Particular attention is directed to the divergence between the inherited law of England and emergence of local legal documents. Stress will be given to the relationship between the law and the social contexts within which the law was applied.
