ACES885: Technologies in Mathematics and Science Teaching

This unit explores the role of new technologies and associated pedagogies in the teaching and learning of mathematics and science in schools (K-12). Participants will evaluate the use of technological tools such as web-based learning, dynamic interactive software, digital learning objects, on-line interactive learning systems and interactive whiteboards (IWBs). Current research in the application of technological tools in mathematics and science teaching and learning will also be examined. Participants will have the opportunity to focus on a specialised area of interest. This unit complements ACES886 Contemporary Issues in Mathematics Education.
