AMED818: Lumbar Spine Stabilisation and Fusion
On completion of this unit, the student will have demonstrated subspecialist expertise in the operative and peri-operative care of patients requiring anterior or posterior stabilisation and fusion of the lumbar spine. It requires understanding and knowledge of the pathology of degenerative disc disease and its diagnosis and management, and the physiology of spinal fusion.
Note: Students enrolled in an external offering of this unit will be required to attend some on campus sessions.
