AMED862: Surgery for Cardiac Failure

The aim of this unit is to enable the student to achieve demonstrable subspecialist expertise in the evaluation, preoperative workup, operative and perioperative care of patients requiring surgical treatment for cardiac failure, including coronary artery surgery, valve surgery, left ventricular reconstruction, cardiac resynchronization therapy, anti-arrhythmic surgery.

Note: Students enrolled in an external offering of this unit will be required to attend some on campus sessions.
