BCA813: Advanced Clinical Trials
This unit extends and enhances concepts developed in BCA807. Topics to be covered will include methods in randomised controlled trials for determining stopping rules for interim analyses, spending functions, stochastic curtailment, cross-over designs, preference outcomes, N-of-1 studies and equivalence and non-inferiority trials; statistical principles of aspects of regulatory/reporting guidelines; statistical issues in systematic reviews and meta-analysis: combining estimates across trials, meta-analysis using individual patient data, dealing with heterogeneity and selection bias.
