BIOL887: Biodiversity and Conservation

Two themes are explored in this unit: first, the theory and experimentation that supports conservation science; second, the interface with the prevailing economic, political, social and legislative issues. Topics include biodiversity, experimental design, conservation technologies, population viability analysis, reserve design and selection, restoration and off-reserve conservation. Practicals are in a compulsory block practical session.
