BIOL905: Introduction to Coral Reefs

An intensive field-based unit designed to enable students to investigate first hand important aspects of reef formation, structure, biodiversity, management and evolutionary history. The fundamental part of the unit is for each student to learn how to think scientifically and to apply appropriate methods and techniques to solve real scientific questions in the field. The unit involves a compulsory one-day on-campus session and an eight-day field excursion to Heron Island (separate excursion fee is imposed).
