GSE800: Attitudes to the Environment
This unit examines our attitudes to nature, from philosophical, ethical and political perspectives. Issues covered include: ecophilosophy; conflicting attitudes to the natural world displayed by society; philosophical stances on the environment; need for ethical guidelines; current perceptions about environmental crises; influences of other disciplines such as science and economics on environmental ethics; attitudes translating into political action; predictions for the future.
