GSE839: Environmental Research-Report

This unit requires a dissertation of approximately 6,000 words on some aspect of environmental economics, environmental management, sustainable development, environmental planning, environmental science or environmental/sustainability education. It may take one of the following forms: a case study; an evaluation of an institutional practice or policy; a limited empirical investigation (in the case of an economics project); a critical review of policy, law or practice by different institutions either nationally or globally; The identification of the subject and dissertation content is to be negotiated with the unit convenor prior to commencement of the report and a workplan signed by the student, supervisor and the Head of the Department. Students will work individually under the supervision of a member of staff and/or a suitably qualified external professional.
