IRPG840: The International System

This unit provides an introductory overview of global politics particularly focused on the changing role of the nation-state in international relations. The unit examines both the main thematic changes in international relations such as globalisation, international law, gender and the role of the United Nations, and some of the major issues, such as the changing nature of war, spread of nuclear weapons, protection of the environment, and economic development.
