ISS808: Organisations of Global Security

This unit examines the institutional structure which has been built up to deliver international security. The unit starts with a study of the security dimensions of the typical modern state and proceeds to trace the development of international organisations which increasingly share this role. The recent emergence of private security organisations is also covered.
