LAW851: Climate Change and Energy Law

This unit will examine international and domestic climate law and policy from an inter-disciplinary perspective with a focus upon the energy sector. The unit will examine the role of law in addressing climate and energy related issues in Australia and overseas. In particular the unit will explore Australia's response to the UNFCCC and Kyoto Protocol as well as domestic energy policy, the role of an emissions trading system and an analysis of current international legal challenges and responses including the international legal instruments and institutions relating to climate protection.
