The nature of professional expertise, its definition and its processes of acquisition, its relationship to the charting of professional competencies and to personal communicative capacity. How social and institutional contexts inform and are informed by narratives of experience. The nature of claims and warrants for expert behaviour. Evaluation of evidence for expert exercise of judgment in different contexts.
