PSYS824: Drugs and Social Health I (Context and Effects)

This unit is concerned with the social, political, economic and historical contexts of drug use, including the construction of deviancy, processes of social control and social policy, fundamentals of the pharmacology, therapeutics and pharmacokinetics of drug use with focus on commonly used substances, issues of drug use and effects, and the implications for special needs of non-dominant groups.
