PSYS830: Trauma: Legacies and Interventions

This unit is concerned with theoretical and empirical evidence on the legacies of childhood trauma (physical, sexual and emotional abuse and neglect) and adult trauma (dispossession, disaster, violence, torture, refugees), loss and grief, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, complex PTSD and common behavioural concomitants (such as dissociation, self-mutilation, violence and drug abuse). Skills training in various approaches to intervention.
