ACCG256: Accounting and Society

This unit explores the interrelationships between accounting and society. It introduces students to a range of sociological theories and concepts that enable a critical re-evaluation of conventional practices and theories of accounting. The unit is designed to enable students to appreciate the forces that shape accounting and to place into perspective the consequences that accounting has in society.
