ACST354: Survival Models

This unit develops models for survival, sickness and marriage. Students will estimate decrement rates from actual experiences, compare them with the rates expected from standard tables and prepare new standard tables. This involves a consideration of risk factors and the effects of selection; design of data collection; statistical analysis and graduation of the observed rates; testing the graduation. Single decrement, multiple decrement and multiple state models will be considered.
