AHST232: Rome and the Caesars

A study of Rome from 44 BC (the murder of Julius Caesar) to the end of the reign of Hadrian (AD 138). There will be a large emphasis on political history, but attention will also be paid to social, cultural and economic developments. Evidence will be drawn from documents, monuments and the literature of the period.
