AHST239: From Ur to Babylon: A History of Israel from Abraham to the Babylonian Exile
A study of the traditions and history of the Jewish people from the foundation of the nation through the period of the monarchy to the catastrophic events of the early sixth century BCE. The Hebrew Bible and archaeological evidence will be used as sources to reconstruct the history of the period and to understand the theological responses to unfolding events. Critical scholarship will be employed to interpret our historical sources.
