ASN378: Research Option

(V2 session dates: 11 January-11 February 2010)

This unit provides students with the opportunity to acquire a deeper understanding of Asia through research on a particular subject. Students will, after choosing a research topic in consultation with the unit coordinator, undertake a 5,000 word research paper. Within the framework of Asian studies, research topics can be chosen from a wide spectrum of Asia-related fields including (but not limited to) Chinese or Japanese language, culture, history, social and contemporary issues, mass media, socio-economic issues and international relations involving Asia. Chinese or Japanese native speakers may enrol in this unit.
