BIOL360: Biology of Australasian Vertebrates

Lectures will include a survey of Australasian vertebrates, both native and introduced, with a major focus on mammal species. Topics cover biogeography, ecology, genetics, nutrition, anatomy, reproductive biology, behaviour, evolution, population management and conservation. The practical will centre on field techniques, wildlife handling and behavioural observations. Lectures will be given twice a week as scheduled. Practical work, for both internal and external students, will be carried out in a block practical session both at Macquarie University laboratories, zoological parks and in the field.
