CBMS113: Advanced Chemistry 1B
This unit comprises a weekly one-hour discussion group/tutorial based around recent advances in the chemical sciences. It is an extension course to CBMS103 (Introductory Chemistry B) and will treat some topics in more depth and introduce others that are not covered in that unit. Student discussions are led by research scientists of the Department. As part of CBMS113 students may be expected to present a 10-minute talk on a chosen topic. In addition, they are encouraged to participate in the activities of research groups within the Department over the long vacation.
