CBMS224: Biochemistry and Molecular Biology II

This unit builds on knowledge from the first semester unit CBMS223. Topics include recombinant DNA technology and genetic engineering, molecular biology of bacterial and animal viruses, gene expression and organisation, vitamins, second messengers, hormones, photosynthesis, and applications of molecular biology to the study of biological problems. Laboratory practical sessions will be alternated with tutorials on relevant topics.
