CHN157: Contemporary China

This unit is an introduction to contemporary China including the political system, the economy, centre and periphery, minorities, environment, human rights and law and contemporary culture. This unit examines current events affecting China both domestically and internationally. Lectures will be in English and no knowledge of Chinese is required.
