DEM356: Demographic Techniques

This unit will enhance the students' knowledge of the dynamics of population change by teaching them advanced quantitative demographic skills. Some of the topics covered will include: testing the accuracy of data, curve fitting and demographic modelling, stable populations, multiple decrement tables, component analysis, and demography in medical sciences. Students will be provided with hands-on experience of analysing demographic data for Australia and selected overseas countries .
