This unit takes a multi-disciplinary approach to examine the effects of social class, gender, ethnicity, media, schooling, law and politics on children and families. It also introduces students to the socio-political context of teaching in Australian early childhood settings and schools. It takes a broad approach to enriching students understanding of the processes of Australian Government and the social and political influences that shape Australian society.
