ECH131: The Arts in Early Childhood Contexts

An overview of the arts (children's literature, drama, movement, music and the visual arts) and its role in the lives of young children. The focus is on artistic and aesthetic development in these areas. Selected art forms are investigated separately and the integration of art forms in early childhood is emphasised. The role of adults is addressed in facilitating dynamic and interactive environments for the arts.
