2009 Course Handbook
EUL301: In-Country Study Unit I
This unit is designed for students of all the European languages offered by the Department who wish to study for a semester at a European university, especially at one with which Macquarie has an exchange agreement. A recognised program of study at the overseas university which is deemed to be the equivalent of 6 credit points at Macquarie must be worked out in advance in consultation with staff in the individual languages and approved by the Head of the Department of International Studies. Students will be assessed at Macquarie on their return from overseas. In most languages this unit can be counted towards a coherent study above 200-level. The University strongly encourages overseas study and provides travel grants on a competitive basis for such study. Students planning to take this option should discuss their plans as early as possible with staff in their language.
