EUL306: Translation: Theory and Practice
The unit provides an introduction to a broadly based discipline of translation studies by exploring forms and concepts of translation. It includes selected aspects of translation theory, cross-cultural linguistics and cross-cultural communication relevant to translation and translators' professional ethics and code of conduct. A one-hour seminar will be complemented by one-hour language-specific tutorials, where students will be translating between English and their language of study.
