2009 Course Handbook
FRN122: Introductory French I
This unit is designed for students who have little or no knowledge of French, including those who have studied the language at HSC, beginners or continuers bands 1 to 3 (or equivalent). The most recent methods, including web activities, are used to develop students' skills in reading, writing, comprehension and speaking. The unit also provides students with a framework they can build upon to communicate effectively in French and introduces students to contemporary French culture. The work in this unit is of a very intensive nature. In addition to the compulsory class hours, a CD program and a workbook/laboratory manual provide students with extra material for their written, oral and aural practice. The on-campus session for external students is compulsory for students from the Sydney metropolitan area.
