GEOS214: Climatic Impacts
At last it appears as if the entire world has recognised that global climate change is upon us, and that it's probably the single most important issue that humanity will have to grapple with in the 21st century. While our climate system's complex processes will certainly remain a focal point for science this century, the spotlight is shifting away from basic climate science towards questions concerning the impacts that climate change will have, and what we must do to adapt to and mitigate those impacts.
Although it is designated as a "science" unit in the undergraduate handbook, GEOS214 is pitched to a very diverse audience; social, economic, engineering and political perspectives will all be presented by a panel of internationally renowned experts drawn from the University's Concentration of Research Excellence (CoRE) in Climate Risk.
There are no presumed skills, prerequisite or co-requisite units for enrolment in this multi-disciplinary unit.
