JPN214: Intermediate Spoken Japanese (2)

This unit continues the focus from JPN 213 on enhancing students' skills in aural comprehension, oral expression and intercultural competence. However, JPN 214 will also provide students with the skills to negotiate conversations of a more specific nature, for example, social issues and other issues beyond their personal world in addition to everyday social interactions. Building on the knowledge gained in JPN 213, JPN 214 will further develop students' intercultural competence by integrating their understanding of the ways in which culture and language are connected, and the ways in which values are transmitted with the language they produce through role plays, skits and other communicative activities.
