JPN250: Modern Japanese Society

This unit examines contemporary Japanese society. It looks at the social and historical issues that have taken place in modern Japan, particularly since the period of high economic growth, and its effects on modern Japanese society. It is conducted mainly in English, however, students are encouraged to have a keen interest in Japanese society as well as Japanese language. Knowledge of Japanese language is not required for this unit.
