JPN385: Intercultural Perspectives: Japanese and English

This unit is offered specifically to Japanese language learners with a high level of Japanese language proficiency, students with Japanese language background and Japanese native speakers. It will examine the complexity and sensitivity of the cross-cultural and linguistic issues of bilingualism, through the detailed comparisons of Japanese and English materials in diverse genres. It aims at further developing students' Japanese/English bilingual capacity for consolidating a foundation for professional translation and interpretation.
