LAW435: Comparative Legal History
The common law spread across the globe in the wake of British colonial expansion. But the common law system adapted to different colonial circumstances. Legal development diverged in subtle, yet important, ways. This unit will examine the history of selected legal issues in comparative context. Australian legal development will be compared with other common law jurisdictions, including Canada and the United States.
