LAW539: Property in Natural Resources

Who owns water? Who owns energy? Who owns bio-resources? These three questions form the basis of an exploration of the legal protection of property rights in natural resources with respect to both private and public property in Australia and at a global level. The unit is taught in three modules: Energy (Oil, Coal, Carbon); Bio-Resources (Genetic Information in Food and Medicine); Water (Murray-Darling Basin water management and urban water management).
