SOC293: Migration and Multicultural Studies

This unit considers migration from a global perspective. It focuses on the way that population movements are shaped by global economic and political changes, and on impact of population movements on international and national politics. Key concerns include the changing international division of labour, transnational networks, asylum seekers and refugees and the policies of accommodation and containment, such as citizenship and multiculturalism, that have accompanied population movements and shape contemporary life.
