STAT378: Statistical Computing
This unit develops basic computer-intensive statistical methods. Topics include: regression influence diagnostics and collinearity diagnostics based on singular value decomposition; selecting the best regression model; alternatives to least squares: ridge regression, principal component regression and M-estimators; model validation by split sample and predictive R criteria; iterative procedures and non-linear regression.
